Colosseum

Roman Forum and Palatine Hill
A few steps from the Colosseum, the Roman Forum takes you into the political and commercial heart of ancient Rome.
Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano
One of the four papal basilicas and the oldest church in the West, about a 10-minute walk from the apartment.
Villa Celimontana
A park ideal for a relaxing walk or a picnic on sunny days: perfect for families and groups.
The great classics
Vatican Museums
A must-see for anyone visiting Rome: over 20,000 works of art, including Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel. We recommend booking tickets in advance at museivaticani.va to avoid queues. From Via Labicana you can take metro line A (red) from the Manzoni stop towards Battistini and get off at Ottaviano: from there it’s a short walk to the Vatican Museums (about 25 minutes in total).

On Via Merulana, an interactive experience with over 70 installations that challenge perception: perfect for families and the curious of all ages, open every day.
A walk through history and shopping: Via del Corso
Start at Piazza del Popolo, with its elegant obelisk and twin churches, and continue along Via del Corso, a lively street rich in history: noble palazzos, luxury boutiques, historic cafés and artisan shops line the walk among baroque façades and glittering shop windows.
- Palazzo Chigi: the residence of the Prime Minister, at the heart of Italian politics.
- Galleria Alberto Sordi: a space dedicated to the great Roman actor, with shops and memorabilia, also great for a bit of shopping.
- Trevi Fountain: though not directly on Via del Corso, it is easily reachable and well worth a visit to throw the traditional coin.
- Piazza Colonna: another historic square, dominated by the Column of Marcus Aurelius.
Tip: stop at one of the many historic cafés in the area for a cappuccino and a cornetto, watching life go by on the street.
The best views
The Orange Garden (Parco Savello) is a romantic spot, ideal for watching the sunset over Rome. The Pincio Terrace, in Villa Borghese, offers a magnificent view over Piazza del Popolo and the whole city.
